From one fragile VPN tunnel to a tested, automatic backup path into a cloud ERP
Golden Manufacturers Limited (GML) · January 2026

The challenge
GML makes the cartons, packaging and labels behind some of Fiji's best-known products. Orders, stock, production and deliveries all run through Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, hosted in Azure.
Everything reached the ERP through one firewall at head office in Suva, and only one of its two VPN tunnels worked. If that path failed, there was no automatic backup. Staff also needed secure access to the ERP when working away from the office, and the IT team had little visibility when problems came up.
What we did
- Tested it first: built a working copy of the design in our Sydney lab before touching the live network.
- Head office: two Versa SD-WAN appliances and new Cisco core switches, so no single device can cut off the ERP.
- Two carriers: SD-WAN tunnels over Vodafone and Digicel internet, switching automatically when the main link struggles or fails.
- Into Azure: a virtual Versa appliance inside GML's Azure environment, carrying firewall and traffic rules right up to Business Central.
- Remote staff: Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), so approved users reach Business Central without broad access to the office network.
- Automatic failover between two carriers, tested and working
- No single piece of head office hardware can take the ERP offline
- Secure remote ERP access for authorised staff
- Business Central traffic prioritised over browsing and downloads
- Clear network and application visibility for the IT team
- Ready for branches to connect straight to Azure in the next phase

"I really appreciate how quickly your team handled the configuration and for walking us through the new interface. The added layer of security is a vital step in protecting our group of company assets."
